Transforming SMEs: Key takeaways from phase one of the ADMA TranS4MErs Open Call

As we wrap up the design phase of the ADMA TranS4MErs 2nd Open Call, we’re excited to share the incredible progress and value our Transformation Programme is bringing to manufacturing SMEs across Europe.

Our goal is to help innovative and ambitious SMEs become Factories of the Future, giving them the tools and expertise they need to excel in the digital era. Together, we are leading SMEs towards a brighter and successful future.

During the application period, 945 SMEs were accepted into the Design phase. They gained access to the xChange Platform, participated in xChange events, and received personalised support with a TranS4MEr. This allowed them to review their ADMA scan results and co-design their Transformation Plans. The ADMA TranS4MErs programme has provided these companies with invaluable opportunities to rethink and redesign their business models towards Industry 4.0, driving digital transformation and sustainability.

The true strength of the ADMA TranS4MErs programme lies in its extensive EU-wide network. By joining the programme, SMEs gain access to a vast pool of expertise and knowledge, allowing them to address digital and advanced manufacturing challenges effectively.

Managing the Open Call to gather 1,000 SMEs was challenging, but seeing so many manufacturing SMEs join the programme made us proud. It’s rewarding to know our efforts are truly impacting the European manufacturing industry and helping drive innovation.

Applications to Revamp

As the SMEs move into the Revamp phase, they will continue to access the xChange Platform and events but now focus on implementing their Transformation Plans using a range of services and tools. This phase is where the real transformation begins, turning their innovative ideas into tangible progress and ultimately positioning them at the forefront of European advanced manufacturing.

Selected SMEs can now apply for the Revamp phase until October 16th 2024. To apply, SMEs need to submit their updated Transformation Plans detailing their strategies for the implementation phase. Successful SMEs will receive funding (up to 10 tokens, equivalent to €5000 worth of innovation consultancy services and tools) to access over 290 services specifically selected to address their needs and help them achieve the goals set in their Transformation Plans. In the coming months, they will continue working with our TranS4MErs and service providers to ensure the successful implementation of their digital strategies.
